Who's Looking oftenSimilar is best
Last week's poll was about whether it is better to be with someone similar or different to you. 79% of you choose someone similar and I suppose it's true - The more you are alike the easier you find it to get on with someone. You are naturally on the same wavelength and you're not always trying to understand where they are coming from because you are both coming from the same place.
However, I find people who are very different to me present me with interesting challenges and it's great to try to see the world from another point of view particularly if they are the polar opposite to you. But I don't think it is a good basis for a long term relationship - fun for a quick fling though!

Similar to oneself definitely gives you a better chance of long term because you have so much more in common and probably ‘get’ each other better etc, personally that works for me too, but also find very different people very exotic, attractive and fascinating, and the journey with them a hectic rollercoaster which feel likes living life to the full…right am off to the west this week I need a Brazilian girlfriend.....(mrhazeleyes)
Well I prefer to be with someone different to me i.e. I am male and I prefer to be with a Female how much more different do you need to be...
On a serious note(Yes I can be serious sometimes) I think people been different can be good because each person might be able to share something new with each other. Only problem with differnet things are Girls like Click flick and guys don't unless Cameron Diaz is in them :-)The main things I like to be similar both have a sense of humour and can laugh at things

Similarities appears to be a good basis for a bond between people as they have a common ground that they share. But I dont think it is always a guarantee that a long term relationship will develop. In the same way I don't think people who are different to each other means that you can't form a long-term relationship. I know of people who are very different to each other and they have managed to form long-term relationships just as successfully as those I know that are similar to each other. I think that there are other factors that contribute to a long-term relationship and on the top of that list lies respect. Showing respect for others means you can be trustworthy and reliable. I think these are also factors that form the basis to a long-term relationship. i also think this this is not only important in relationships but any kind of friendship between people.
