Humorous Profiles
In last weeks poll you were all pretty definite that a humorous profile only sometimes means that the person themselves are funny with 56% of you voting for this option. I suppose some people are just really good at writing but can't always express themselves that well in person. However, I do think that if they are capable of writing in a witty way then they do have a sense of humour but need time for it to come out - they may not necessarily be the life and soul of the party but they can see the funny side of life which is so important.
This week the poll is about what type of partner you prefer - do opposites attract or would you prefer someone who is similar to you?

Most people young or old have a sense of humor. This often comes with a disposition or a situation that a person is in at any given time. Having a sense of humor does not mean you are funny or see the funny side all of the time. There are others sides to life where being funny simply does not fit in. I think its about getting the right balance, being witty or serious at the appropriate moments. Personally, I don't usually see myself as a funny person but when i find myself in the company of a person with a humorous disposition i find I can be quite funny and add to the humor.

Just to add to my last post - when I first created my MaybeFriends profile I wasn't trying to be funny with the name i chose. A serious disposition was used when I went to great lengths of explaining how I picked my name from a cereal box and what type of person I was. It wasn't until a short while later that I discovered that there was a bit of humor in what I had done with my profile as people were sending me humorous message to reflect this.

I have read some humorous profiles on the site and some off them are very witty ones that I enjoy. I think the best profiles are the "real" honest ones that you can almost judge someone character and then you have the witty ones that make me curious if this person is really that funny and get mys attention... In between Honest and Witty profiles you have the blank or "one liners" that I don't bother with because it doesn't give you any impression of the person at all... The honest and witty ones are teh way to go Singledad
