Mind Games
Todays blog has been prompted by a message on the Maybefriends.com messageboard about "mind games". I often wonder whether or not people play mind games on purpose - do they even know that they are doing it?
I've met people who play mind games but I tend to think it is more of a communication misinterpretation rather than a callous attempt to upset someone or manipulate them. Perhaps I just have a rose tinted view of the world because I never believe that anyone would purposely set out to upset somone or to mess with their heads.
Am I just naive?

I think unfortunately it IS true that there is a lot of game playing going on out there...whether its people playing the field, or those with a chip on their shoulder who think people are out to get them and are trying to stay one step ahead....and a lot of people just arent ready (or mature enough) to be in a relationship despite what they say to the contrary. Thing is, when it actually works with someone, when things are right, playing a game goes out the window and things are just simple, there's no second guessing or battles for one-upmanship, or the powerstruggle over who texted last or who's turn it is to make an effort or not returning calls etc....when things work they just work...and theres no need for all the messing round, so I think if you like someone - just call them and ask them out...none of the faffing around waiting for a three day rule or any of that nonsense, sure the worst that happens is that person isnt interested and you've saved yourselves the time and effort of finding out, rather than chasing after them or playing hard to get and all that malarkey...there ARE game players out there unfortunately, but also honest and genuine people, so if you're playing someone, then you'll only attract a player, but if you're honest and genuine...you'll attract the real thing eventually!
